Michael Powell, PhD

Michael J. Powell, PhD, is staff liaison to the Fellows of the AACR Academy, the Pediatric Cancer and Radiation Science and Medicine Scientific Working Groups, the Surgical Oncology Task Force, the Cancer Prevention, Early Detection, and Interception Committee, and Associate Director of Scientific Programs within the AACR’s Executive Office. Before joining the AACR, he conducted his postdoctoral studies at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia where he investigated novel molecular therapeutics and drug combination strategies for the treatment of infants with leukemia. Prior to this, he researched the role of autophagy, epigenetics, and longevity-related sirtuin proteins in breast and prostate cancer tumorigenesis and in the onset of various neuroendocrine-related disorders. Dr. Powell currently resides in Philadelphia.
